FM Freak Kid Exclusive :5 Top League Season Summary

Ever wonder who did well in which league? Worry not as FM Freak Kid reveals to you the best and the worst from every league in 2nd season of the game. Before that, however, spare me some time to moan about the worst and best signing I made in my 2nd season.

Q.P.R Best Signing of The Season:

Joe Hart:

Young and reliable.Often do his job well.Without him, the team would probably conceded more and ended up near/in relegation zone. For 1.9m, he is a real bargain.

Q.P.R Worst Signing of The Season:

Louis Saha:

He came on free but for a big name player like him, I would expect him to do much much better. Leeching in 30k per week wage in my squad, he had been going in and out of the treatment room too frequent. When he is fit, he cant score.

From 21 league appearances, he only scored 2 goals.Worst signing I ever made, considering his high wage.

League Season Summary:
Due to the fact that the resizing the screenshots will make it hard to read, I will link it to its original size link. All you have to do is click the League you want and see.

English League

French League

Italian League

Spanish League

German League

For English League,it's a bit surprising to see Carlos Tevez's name up there as top scorer.I expect Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres or Wayne Rooney to take up the Golden Boot award.Steven Gerrard is the best provider, assisting 16 times and also scored 17 goals in the process.Surprisingly,Everton made 2 bad signings.

For Liga BBVA,Ibrahimovic is the topscorer. When I 1st knew Real Madrid winning the league, I expect Cristiano Ronaldo to win the topscorer award but turned out Ibrahimovic won it.Xavi assisted the most.Dont you feel weird? When the top scorer and top assist belong to Barcelona but Real Madrid won the league...Weird, no?The only thing I can think of is, Barcelona FC were leaking too much goals.

Have fun analysis each league.I'm off to start my 3rd season. =)

2nd Season ends.

This season, we ended up trophy-less.The 2nd half of the season was pretty bad to be honest.Too much goal conceded...Too much sent off...Lack of goals, etc etc.

League Standing:
Our final position was 9th, still overachieving from our initial expectation.

Look at the table and you know we are lucky because other teams were struggling to perform. We only won 13 matches and lose as much as 14 matches, drawn 11 on the way.

Discipline of Team:

At the end of the season,Otamendi ended up topping the red cards table.

Good News:

Leverkusen approached me for a job.Wage higher than the 5k QPR offered me and the wage budget is 100k more than our current budget. Unfortunately, I rejected it because I aim to bring Q.P.R to be among the top clubs.

And Salvio received the English Players' Young Player of the Year award.

Bad News:
The bad news is, our only proven striker Camara sets to retire.Forget about Saha.He is a flop leeching a huge amount of wage in my team and keep getting himself in and out of the treatment room.

Tried to ask Camara to reconsider his decision but he has already decided so.Guess I have no choice but to find replacement for him.

4-1-2-2-1 FM Freak Kid Tactic

Hi guys! Today, I would like to share the tactic I used to beat big teams to great success.

The typical 4-5-1 or 4-1-2-2-1 as I called it...

Result After Using:
I started using this tactic during my 1st season with Q.P.R and beat Premier League team often enough even with a mediocre squad.

I continued using it in my Premier League survival quest and it's still work wonders for me.Up until now, I have only lost 1 game using this tactic which is 1-0 defeat against Man Utd.Other than that, I have been able to snatch points from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool with ease.I even beat Chelsea using this tactic.

Below are the results my team get after using this tactic.Make no mistake, the team had never lost more than 1 goal using this tactic.

1st season(in Coca Cola Championship):

2nd season(in Premier League):

What You Need?
To use this formation to its greatest potential, you need

-Ball Winning Midfielder
Key attributes: Passing, Tackling, Bravery, Aggression.

-Good defensive midfielder
Key attributes: Marking, Tackling, Teamwork, Work Rate.

-Good Attacking Wingers
Key Attributes: Crossing

-Target Man
Key Attributes: Finishing, Heading, Jumping.

The Season Of Death or Survival

Previous post, I showed all the transfer made before the season kick off.Today, I'm going to share how those signings affects my Q.P.R run in Premier League.

Early Run:
The team had a mixed start.Drawn 2-2 against Bolton, followed by a defeat against Man Utd and a narrow win against Wolves. However, there is something worth happy about.

Salvio claimed the young player of the month award yet again but this time in Premier League. He's worth every penny of the 3.7m I paid for him.Easily the best signing I have ever made beside Otamendi.

The following months were decent as we made everyone know they shouldn't take us easy just because we are the newly promoted team.

In one of the match at home, against Spurs, Salvio again, to the savior but...

only to be denied by a Jermain Defoe's late goal that stole a point from us.

In the match against Chelsea, the team managed to steal a surprise win .

New signing, Jones scored the only goal in the match...Surprisingly, the team managed to kept a clean sheet .

Our Formation and Line up:

Chelsea's Formation and Line up:

Judging from the lineup, it's clear that they have a far better and stronger lineup than us.We got lucky to get that 3 points.

Carlo Ancelotti was angry I guess... Few weeks later, his Chelsea side knocked us out from Carling cup.Cattermole scored 1st but Terry and Cavani scored 2 goals to come back from behind and knocked us out of Carling cup. Sigh...

Against Top Four:
Against the top Four,we had an excellent results. We managed to have a 1 defeat, 1 victory 2 draws against them.

Man Utd beat us in their own turf and we beat Chelsea at home.

Against Arsenal and Liverpool, we managed to hold a 0-0 result and given that we were playing away, those 2 matches are considered to be fantastic results.

Bad discipline:
The main problem of the team now is the bad discipline on pitch.Cards are flying around from match to match.

As early as 15 league matches,we already had 5 red cards.

We actually have 3 players in top 10 of the red card table.Dossena and Otamendi loves red I guess.

League Standing:
By January, the team already played 20 league matches.

In those 20 matches, we managed to win only 7! Only 7! Drawn 9 and lost 4.

On the top of table we have Chelsea who had 50 points, 20 points more than us.
Sitting on 7th isn't exactly that bad, huh? Especially with one of the top four behind me.

Next post, Wonderkid on left back.Stay tuned.

New Season Expectation and Transfers

So, here we are entering a new season with new season expectations and new transfer kitty.

Like usual, I am given the chance to pick the aim for the team in this new season.

To play safe, I chose to avoid relegation. The transfer budget available was pretty high with me having 22m to spend .However, the wage allocated was too low and because of that, I have to spend approximately 11m of the transfer money to allow the team to attract better players with better wage structure.

Before making any bold move to sign big name players, I checked out the players released by their clubs and spotted few big names.

The likes of Deco, Louis Saha, De Laet were available and if they could join me, I would save up some money for my 11m transfer budget.De Laet would be a fantastic signings given how versatile he is and he has proved that he can gel well in my team after last season loan.Saha will be great because to survive in Premier League, the team would need someone experienced upfront and he will team well with Camara because both are equally good.Deco's age and high wage will be something to worry about but his creativity is something the team desperately need of.

In the end, only Saha and De Laet agreed to join the team. Deco snubbed the deal in favour of a move to Zaragoza which he thinks as a bigger club compared to Q.P.R.

Team Analysis:

With the transfer budget left 11m, I have to analyze where and which position I have to improve before.

1.Goalkeeper
Cerny is not good enough to be the 1st choice and my asisstant only described him as "decent" player which means we need a better goalkeeper than him to be the #1

2.Leftback/Right back
The leftback position is a big problem because Borrowdale never convince me about making him the 1st choice left back and a lot of goals last season was conceded because of his errors.A Must-Improve area.Peter Ramage is a decent right back but we will need another backup to cover for him in case any injury happens.

3.Center Midfielder/Defending Midfielder
The team was in a disastrous state after Ben Watson(who was on loan from Wigan) left the team in January.Faurlin is far from a convincing midfielder. Another Must-Improve positions.

Players In:

I searched through the players transfer listed list and found some bargains there.Hart, Dossena and Jermaine Jones were listed and thus I bought all of them. Hart was cheap but a quality player.Jones is the bargain here.

At at age of 28, this former Schalke player seems to have an impressive stats.Take a look at his stats.

His work rate is 20, team work is 18 and most importantly, determination is 20!Determination is very very important for club like us who always trail behind our opponents to get back into the game.

His impressive tackling, concentration, marking and bravery makes him a very good anchor man.Physically, he is as good as the likes of Essien and Mascherano.3.4m? What a bargain.

Besides Jones, I brought in another midfielder. It's the young English holding midfielder Cattermole. It's a swap+ cash deal.

He is only 21 and all the key attributes for a good midfielder, he has it.He will only be better and I'm glad that Sunderland accepted the swap deal. :D

Players Out:

To be honest, I never knew it's so hard to sell the player out. I had been offering most of the unwanted players to the clubs with a discounted price and none of them really interested in it.So, I had no choice but to release and terminate contracts to keep the wage in balance.

All sets and ready.New season here we come!

Best Game? Worst Game of the season?

The season ended and now the team is in Premier League but I would like to share the best/worst game of the season in my previous season.

Our run in League cup was nothing but incredible.Let us refresh the memories.

We started the unbelievable run in League Cup by beating Villa at their own turf before beating Birmingham and met one of the Big Four, Arsenal.

Another surprising victory ensured the team to proceed to Semi Final of League Cup which the team had to play against another big four, Man United.

In the 1st leg , at Loftus Road, the team managed to lead 2-0 up at HT before conceding 2 goals in 2nd half and Camara scored a crucial penalty to beat Man Utd 3-2.

The Best Game?Nah..Nope.

In the 2nd Leg, the team had to play away at Old Trafford with a one-goal-lead advantage.

At Half Time, Man Utd had a healthy 3-0 lead which means the total aggregate was already 3-5.

Entering 2nd half, by 64minutes, Berbatov scored another goal to make it 4-0.The team will have to score at least 3 goals to enter extra time.Mission Impossible.

But 16minutes of magical football put the team into extra time.

Rowlands scored a penalty before Camara slotted in a goal.Salvio, desperately show how well he is, scored the vital goal in stoppage time to push the team into extra time.

But good time are usually short and we had a humilating result after that.

They scored another 5 in extra time.
Full Time
Manchester United 9-3 Queens Park Rangers.

Agg: 11-6

United proceed to League Cup final.

So, tell me, is this the Best Game of the season or the Worst Game of the season? I can't really tell. *winks*

Signings of The Season:
1. Henri Camara - FREE
2. Eduardo Salvio - 3.7m
3. Nicolas Otamendi - 2.1m

The Q.P.R Story -Quick Summary

November -December

Enters November. The 1st thing I did was to sign another free transfer to boost the attacking force.

Henri Camara agreed to join but due to unknown reason, despite the fact that he is out of contract, he can only join the club on 1.1.2010

The November was a mixed month for the team. However there is one player deserved to be praised for his outstanding form he was in.

The man to watch - Ákos Buzsáky

Buzsaky continued his form from October and made an incredible 4 goals in 4 matches , added up another 2 assists in these four games.

By the end of November, the team is sitting at the top of table, having played a game more than the rest of the title contenders.Pretty surprising as I had never expected that much.

Deducting the 3 points would mean, the team were most likely sitting at #2 in the league table.

December was a busy month with the team playing 6 matches in just 4 weeks.Due to the thin depth of squad and fatigue problem, the team had one of the worst month under my management.

December ended with 3 draws, 1 defeat and only 2 victories. The team slipped to 4th on the league table.

January- End Of Season

The bad form carried on into January as the team lose the 1st game of the month against Plymouth.

To add salt to injury, Peter Ramage was injured and...

the most reliable center back of the team, Otamendi scored an own goal to give away 3 points to Plymouth. "Thank You very much" said Plymouth.

I decided to take things more seriously by fining those who perform below par lately and it worked wonders. We managed to take 9 out of 9 points from the remaining matches in January and another surprise came in.

Believe it or not, I won yet another Manager of the Month award.I would never expect this after losing one of the matches in the month. This is the 1st time I saw a manager winning the monthly award despite losing a match.Unbelievable because that would mean other big clubs in the same league were suffering bad forms and had lose at least 1-2 matches in the month.

The following months were outstanding as the team only lose 1 match and draw 1 match from 12 matches.

For the impressive results they get,
I get another 2 Manager of the Month awards.

That makes me taking the award, 3 months in a row.My 1st time of getting an award 3 times in a row after all these years of playing Football manager.

Salvio claimed his 1st Player of the Month award, beating his own teammate Akos Buzsaky who was 2nd for the award.

At the end of the season, before the 46th game, the team already won the league.

Take a deep look at the table and you will notice that we are quite lucky to win the Championship. We drawn as much as 12 matches and lost 5 in 44 matches. We won it because other big teams keep slipping up with almost all of them losing at least 10 matches. Some of them even get 10 drawn game.

Lucky us they keep slipping up.But we won and only that matters.

Amazingly, the board were delighted at "unexpected" promotion but wasn't that the season expectation since August?

They must be taking my words lightly. How dare you!
