Entering the 3rd season with Q.P.R, the board is not going easy on me with "Finished midtable" as minimum requirement.
Transfers:There are few areas I have to improve on mainly because those players playing in those positions last season are gone...Camara retired, Tosic left after refusing to join permanently.In addition to that, Peter Ramage seems to be not good enough to be the regular on right back.
So, 3 areas that must be improved before the season kick start.
-Striker
-Left Winger
-Right back.
As usual, I started searching for free bargain before splashing cash.Found three good signings that agreed to join the team.
Milan Baros:
Pros:-Would have no problem adapting to English football after his spells with Villa and Liverpool.
-Great pace and decent physically.
-Free
Cons:-Poor heading, poor jumping.Definitely cant be a target man.
-A risky signing since he is at his 30 now.
Esper Johnsen:
Pros:-Will be great as backup gk for Hart.
-Allow me to offload Cerny
-Good goalkeeping attributes.
-Free
Cons:-Adaptability is a concern.
Piotr Trochowski:
Pros:-Versatility
-Allow me to offload Lee Cook.
-Good attributes.
-Free
-Only 24yo now and can still improve.
Cons:-Adaptability is a concern.
-Decision making is poor.
-Low strength
-Low work rate.
Transfers In:I made few more signings after these 3.I brought in 4 more strikers.Santa Cruz and Keirrison were listed.So I grabbed the chance to sign them.
Santos(a regen) and Cristaldo are signed for the future.Both are still too young to be a regular in the team.
Gosling was brought in to provide competition for Ramage on right back.Rodwell, on the other hand, came in through swap deal involving De Laet moving to Everton.I would say it's a bargain since Rodwell is more versatile, younger and better.Thank you Everton :D
Transfers Out:To make the account balance, I have to offload players even if it means to let them go FREE.Wage capital is horrible despite the huge amount of transfer budget given.
Hall, Szamotulski were all released.
Agyemang and Helguson all left on free while Saha and Cerny were sold for a little profit.
Preseason:The team did well in preseason, winning all but two.One of the two matches was draw, another being defeat.
Two of the matches were fulled of goals - 6-0 and 7-0.
Santa Cruz managed to get hat trick both from both matches.Another good news is Cattermole is banging in goals :D
Damn!I can't wait for the new season to start!
