Sime Vrsaljko from Dinamo

Never heard of him? But hey, he got one of the best stats ever for someone as young as he is. Sime Vrsaljko is transfer listed at the start of the game. I have no idea why and don't bother either because it just makes my life easier if I have the money to buy him over!

Main attributes to be considered for a wing back.
1. Pace
2. Crossing
3. Positioning
4. Stamina
5. Marking

Already bought by Ath Madrid early in game...

Well, at the start of the game, his states are as follow

1. Pace - 15
2. Crossing - 13
3. Positioning - 11
4. Stamina - 17
5. Marking - 13

Very very good attributes for a 19 years old...Caught the eyes of big club and ended up in Atlético Madrid for a fee of £3.2m

After three seasons at La Liga with Atlético Madrid , he moves to Manchester United for a fee of £14m , at the age of 22!!!

Three seasons later...

Stats are now as follow:

1. Pace - 16 (Up 1)

2. Crossing - 14 (Up 1)
3. Positioning - 14 (Up 3)
4. Stamina - 19 (Up 2)
5. Marking - 15 (Up 2)

Not only he has the pace to beat opponents marker, his dribble skill stands at 13... Good concentration and determination. Have the strength to fend off physical challenge from opponent and most importantly versatile! He can also play in the midfielder which is an add point !

Possible Prized Away Fee At the start of the game: £2.7m - £3.2m

James Tomkin - The West Ham Hot Prospect

James Tomkin, one of the most promising youngster in West Ham squad. Ever wonder how his development gonna be after 3 years in FM 2012 game? Will he be a good signing? This post will be explaining in detail all these.

For a center defender, the most important attributes we are looking for are
1. Marking
2. Concentration
3. Positioning
4.Strength

Tackling,Anticipation and pace are equally important.

James Tomkin at the start of the game.

These are the stats he has at the start of the game.
Marking- 14
Concentration -11
Positioning - 12
Strength - 14
Pace - 13
Tackling - 13
Anticipation - 13
These are great especially given the fact that he is only 22 years old. At the start of my game, Newcastle United already prized him away with a bid of £3.2m....

3 seasons later.... 2014-2015

Marking- 14 (Same)
Concentration -13( Up 2)
Positioning - 15 (Up 3)
Strength - 16 (Up 2)
Pace - 14 (Up 1)
Tackling - 14 (Up 1)
Anticipation - 15 (Up 2)

Estimated value of £4.7m.... by now, he is already attracting interest of various top club including Tottenham, Arsenal and few others. Makes no mistake, he also has heading of 15 and 17 for jumping which makes him a goal threat as well as a good reliable defender. Promising and can still improve further.

Leeds United and The First Two Signing

After considering for a while, I have decided to go with Leeds United as my first team to manage in Football Manager 2012.

Leeds United, the team I picked.

Few other teams that I have considered include West Ham United, Birmingham City FC and Hull City FC but in my opinion, their team consist too many good players that promotion to the Premier League is almost guaranteed. Not challenging and it would be of no fun if it's too easy.

Leeds United, on the other hand, have a decent squad although the financial part would mean that only small amount of transfer budget will be provided. It would be challenging as I have never manage Leeds United before.

Cutting short my story, I have already make 2 new signings to the existing squad.

One young midfielder, one veteran defender.

For midfield, I have signed Jay Spearing from Liverpool Football Club. It's interesting to see that once you started the game, young promising midfielder like Jay Spearing is already being transfer listed.

At the age of 22, Spearing definitely still have a lot to offer to the team. His stamina, position, teamwork and work rate all over 15. These are actually the main attributes that we are looking for in a midfielder. Thus, he is a fairly good midfielder for his age. What matters most is Kenny Dalglish, the manager at Liverpool is willing to accept at monthly installment payment for this transfer. Anyway, I will be looking forward to see what he will be able to offer to the team!

The next signing happened to be a free signing. Cant ignore the fact that he is a good footballer but he made himself a name in World Cup after being headbutted by Zinedine Zidane.  Yes, he is the man called Marco Matterazi.
Remember this? In a world cup few years back!

Although he is now 37 years old (in game), I think he still has a lot to offer to the team. Marking at 14, Concentration at 13, more than enough for league games in Championship division. 16 for position and work rate, 14 for teamwork...You couldn't ask more from a 37 veteran defender. More importantly, he got 16 for his strength. More than enough to hold back big striker like Peter Crouch, Darrent Bent and others although he is not going to meet them unless we get promoted.

Also take note that he has 17 for heading and 16 for jumping. That would make him a good goal threat to the opponent when it comes to corner. All these makes him a good bargain signing.

Hmm, that's all for today. I think I am looking forward for few more signings before getting ready for the league to kick off!

World Cup Fever : England 23men

Capello finally decided who is in his squad...

The seven England players to miss out on a World Cup place are: Leighton Baines, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker, Adam Johnson, Theo Walcott, Darren Bent...

Of all the 7 players removed, I feel pity for Bent.He had been in splendid form but Rooney-Heskey partnership has works pretty well. So, not surprising when Bent is removed because Capello seems to be preferring a small-big combo in front.

God knows what will happen to the left flank with Adam Johnson also being removed from the squad.Steven Gerrard did not do well on the left whenever he plays there because that was never his natural position.Without Johnson, it's probably Gerrard there than anyone else.

As for the right wing, Theo Walcott is the surprise man Capello removed from his squad as the Italian prefer Shaun Wright Phillips.Well, not surprising that not both of them make it into the squad as it will always either one of them to make into the squad especially when they seems to be the same sort of players -Speed demon with trickery yet inconsistent.

Strong squad? Strong enough to win the world cup? We will see...

The Premier League New Boys

It's a routine every season.Someone goes down, someone goes up.

Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion already promoted earlier and now, Blackpool pulled off a miracle to join them in Premier League.

Blackpoll Rock: Brett Ormerod (C) and his team-mates toast their promotion at Wembley Stadium
Well, it would be fun to try out Blackpool when Football Manager 2011 out especially when the club last played in the top flight in 1971.

WAGs ahead of World Cup 2010

The world cup haven't even started yet but the WAGs already started their photo-shooting.

Once in a while, we should forget Football Manager and focus on the real football and WAGs, right?

Read this from dailymail.Apparently, Umbro already started promotion for a range of shirts featuring the World Cup favourites.

Nothing Is Guaranteed ?

Nothing is "FOR SURE".Nothing is Guarantee. At least not in football.

Who would expect a side that pushed Manchester United until the end for the league champion last season would be fighting for the 6th spot now?

A strong Liverpool side consisting of Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Javier Mascherano, Pepe Reina and other quality player are now fighting for the 6th place on their last match of the season.

Is Rafa losing his magic? Or Spurs and City have bought the right players, use the right tactic and outfox Liverpool in every areas?

This season is exciting in a way. Can't imagine what gonna happen to those stats of players that play well and those quality players that play unexpectedly bad.

FM 2011?

I can't wait for the new FM 2011 to come out but it won't be out for at least another 5-6months.

Have you read the news about West Ham putting everyone on sale except Parker? It would be interesting to have a try on West Ham newly-overhauled squad next season in Fm 2011.

City, Liverpool FC, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal would probably be signing few players to improve their current squad as well.Hee, it would be fun to see and try out the new squad of everyteam.

P.S: QPR story continue next post =)

Show Your Authority As Manager

Do players obey you? Do they even respect you? Do they have doubts about your managerial skill?Well, afraid them no more and show them who is the boss around.

It happens to me when I fined a player and he,despite playing badly, said the fine was harsh.

Never in my game, I have my team losing to team fighting to avoid relegation in a big margin of scoreline.

I had one now.My team lose 4-0 against Wolves in League Cup!!!They beat the shit out of us and the worst player on pitch was Matic.

Rating of 4.5 out of 10.Stunning and surprising performance.

Then, he came out saying he is SHOCKED to be handed an official warning despite playing badly.

What's so shocking about the fine when you played badly?

I don't have much patience for him and transfer listed him straightaway.

Good that,NAC Breda actually came in with a bid of 7.5m for him...So, Matic played his last game against Wolves and bid farewell with the supporters.

Thank you very much for the money and bye bye!

So guys, if you have encounter something like this, don't hold back.Sell them out, get someone better in.Show them who's the boss!

First Five Matches

Started the season with difficult matches ahead. In the first five matches, two of them are against the top 4 team, Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC.

Imagining my thin defensive line defends against world class players like Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba alone is killing me...

The first match was Community Shield against Liverpool.Managed to win despite Fernando Torres banged in few goals for Liverpool.Cristaldo, Aliev, Salvio and Keirrison all managed to get on the scoresheet.

Newcastle game was a disappointing match. We lost a player as early as 4minutes when Kacar get sent off. Then, we blew off the 2-goals lead we had.

After Newcaslte get their man sent off, we still failed to score. What a let down.

But I must say, the match against Chelsea was a great one with us managed to score just few seconds into the match.

Mbia opened his scoring account with a strike that not even Cech can save!By half time, it was already 3-1 with Milan Baros and Otamendi adding a goal to their name each!

Barely 1minute into the second half, Baros scored yet again to end any hope for the Blue to make any comeback. It's impossible now and we won it fair and square.

Overall, the first five matches were great albeit a little disappointing in the third match.Great months ahead and I can't deny I'm looking forward to it!

Hunting For Bargains- The Free Deals

I think I'm crazy in some sense.I love bargains. I love cheap stuffs.Worse still, I love free stuffs. So, in FM 2010, I tried my best to hunt for contract-expiring players in order to persuade them to join my team for free in the summer.

They say you pay peanuts you get monkeys. You pay for what you get.So, these free players certainly not good enough which is why their clubs are letting them go for free but after what happened to my signing of Baros, I think that's rubbish.Baros, a free signing I made was an instant success and is a huge success...One nobody will ever forget. He bangs in goals like some goal scoring machine.

Thus, I made a huge list of free signings, in an effort to find another Milan Baros.

I signed eleven free players this season.Yea, I know what's on your mind now.You must be thinking I'm crazy.Well, never try never know.Let's see what happen next.

I have high expectations for players like Matic, N'Gog,Dia and Makoun.

My Q.P.R Spending Spree

Sorry for not keeping you guys updated with my QPR story...My bad for keeping you guys waiting.Anyway, here's the continuation of my Q.P.R story.

Last post, I was talking about buying Italian playmaker, Alberto Aquilani. He was the second signing after I splashed 25m on Sakho.

Now, I spent another 25.5m on another bright star.

Exactly what I need on the left side...Pace, power, trickery and skills...

Just in case you guys didn't know, he already scored one goal in friendly.Hopefully, he will gel well with the team and won't turn out as a flop.

Wondering if he can turn out as another little Messi in my team. *grinning*
